Furlong Building Completes First Phase of Early Learning Center in Price Hill

Former Presbyterian Church home to CELC’s newest education center

Cincinnati, OH—Furlong Building Enterprises has completed the first and second phases of a six-part construction and renovation project for Cincinnati Early Learning Centers’ (CELC) 7,500 sq. ft. new facility. CELC has opened its doors in Price Hill to 40 preschool children, in newly renovated classrooms, a beautiful lobby and training/conference center space. This is the third Price Hill facility for CELC.

“We are proud to have completed our first project for CELC, creating an environment that is warm, welcoming and conducive to learning and teaching,” said Furlong CEO Jude Hehman. “It is a sign of hope and progress to repurpose a former church, bringing it to life so that children can learn in a top-notch environment.”

The Furlong team worked with CELC President and CEO Patricia Gleason to plan every detail of the project. “The staff and board of the Cincinnati Early Learning Centers are thrilled to be expanding our programs to our newest center in Price Hill,” said Patricia Gleason. “This has been an exciting project to work on, and we are pleased to have a new partnership working with Furlong Building Enterprises as well.”

Architect Paul Frey designed the renovation for the nearly 70-year-old former church and school building, including turning the sanctuary into functioning classrooms with observation areas. When the next phase of the project is completed this fall, it will include two additional preschool rooms. When the entire building renovation is completed, the center will serve up to 130 children at this new Price Hill location.
