Annual Award for Protecting the Environment
Florence, KY–Furlong Building Enterprises, LLC, a commercial and industrial construction firm, received the Northern Kentucky Sanitation District #1 2012 Developer/Builder Excellence Award. The award recognizes one developer/builder each year for excellent sediment and erosion control practices, which protects water quality in Northern Kentucky. Furlong was one of three 2012 nominees based on practices observed during 2011 and 2012.
“We are honored to receive the SD1 award and applaud the efforts of our project team, particularly project superintendent Jim Menninger,” said Furlong Chief Operating Officer, Pete Nicolaou. “It is our goal on every project to protect the environment through proper erosion control.” The award was presented at the Land Development Council Meeting in July.
Furlong specializes in design-build construction, additions and renovations for commercial, industrial, office, medical and retail projects. In March, Furlong owners Jude Hehman and Peter Nicolaou celebrated their second anniversary as a company. The company has recorded over $4.5 million in sales during 2011. Cincy Magazine awarded the Tri-State Success Award to Furlong in April 2012.
